Indivisible Series
Jon Kabat-Zinn succinctly stated, ”Everything is related to everything else and, in a way, simultaneously contains everything else and is contained by everything else. What is more, everything is in flux.”
In the series Indivisible, 2001-2002, I explored the interconnectedness of my past to my present. Informed by personal experiences, photographs and memorabilia, as well as by current events, this group of paintings addresses my sense of relationship between what was and what is.
These paintings are large in format and tactile in surface. Hot encaustic paint was applied to wood panels, which were unfinished, coated with plaster, or covered with museum board.
